ทดสอบการ Install Fedora 10

หลังจากที่ได้ทดสอบลง Oracle Database 11g บน Window ไปแล้ว เลยอยากลองเปลี่ยนมาใช้ OS ตัวอื่นที่เป็น OpenSource ดูบ้าง ก็ไปรื้อแผ่น CD ที่เคย D/l มาเก็บไว้ พอดีเห็น Fedora Core 10 ที่เก็บไว้มาซักพักนึง เอามาลองดูกันหน่อยดีกว่า

แต่ต้องเข้าใจกันก่อนนะครับ ว่า OS ที่ทาง Oracle Certifed นั้น ไม่มี Fedora รวมอยู่ด้วย แต่จากเท่าที่ดูจากการใช้งานใน Version ที่ผ่านมาของ Fedora สามารถใช้งานได้ดีทีเดียว

เริ่มกันเลยดีกว่า

1. ใครที่ยังไม่มี Fedora สามารถ Download ได้จาก Mirror Site ในไทย เช่น http://www.mirror.in.th หรือ ftp://ftp.kku.ac.th/pub/Linux/

2. หลังจากได้ไฟล์มาแล้วก็จัดการ Write ลงแผ่น DVD แล้ว Boot เครื่องโดยใช้แผ่นนี้

3. เริ่มกันที่หน้าแรก เลือก Install

หน้าแรกของการติดตั้ง

4. กด Next

5. เลือก English

6.เลือก Keyboard เป็น U.S. English

7. เลือก Yes เพื่อจัดการลบ Data ใน Partition

8. กำหนดชื่อ Host Name ในที่นี้ใช้ชื่อว่า Fed10

9. เลือก Timezone เป็น Asia/Bangkok

10. กำหนด Password สำหรับ Root

11. เริ่มทำ Patition Hard Drive อย่าลืม Check Box Review and modify partitioning layout

12. ที่สำคัญคือ Swap File ต้องประมาณ 2 เท่าของRAM ไม่งั้น Install Oracle Database 11g ไม่ได้ ต้องการแก้ไขเลือก Swap แล้ว เลือก Edit

13. ทำการ Edit ให้ได้ ขนาดตามต้องการ แล้วเลือก OK

14.กด Next จะเป็นการจัดการ Partition ให้ได้ ตามขนาดที่ Set ไว้

15. ตามค่า Default กด Next

16. จะกด Next เลย หรือว่า เลือก Option ที่ต้องการแล้วกด Next ก็ได้

17. เริ่มการ Install Fedora Core10

18. หลังจาก Install เสร็จ Boot เครื่องมาใหม่ จะได้ หน้าตาแบบนี้

19. กด Forward ได้เลย

20. OS จะให้สร้าง User ขึ้นมาใช้งาน

21. กด Finish

22. Log On เพื่อใช้งาน

23. หน้าแรก พร้อมใช้กับ Fedora Core 10

24. ขั้นต่อมาก็ มาดูเรื่อง Network ให้พร้อมก่อนติดตั้ง Database

25. จากที่ทดสอบดู แก้ไข Subnet Mask ในนีใช้งานไม่ได้ ดูเหมือนว่าจะเป็น Bug ของ Fedora Core 10 ให้ไป แก้ไขที่ไฟล์ โดยตรงจะดีกว่า

แล้วก็ check box เลือก Controlled by Network Manager และ Activate device when computer Starts ด้วย

26. Set Firewall ให้ Disable

27.ที่ SELinux Administration เลือก Systm Default Enforcing Mode เป็น Disabled

28. เป็นอันเสร็จสิ้น รอตอนต่อไป เป็นการ Install Oracle Database 11g บน Fedora Core 10
